The Need

All God’s Children International serves vulnerable populations across the globe, which can present a challenge when communicating the complex needs of children and families so far from a Western audience. In this film I wanted to show that children who run away from home are often the victim of generational trauma. In this film the audience takes a journey, first feeling the main character has fun away from home to escape her cruel mother, and then coming to understand the mother had experienced trauma herself and had never had the opportunity to heal. When both children and parents can heal from trauma, reuniting them is healthy and sustainable.

the results

This film played a key role in raising more than half a million dollars at a single event. The film has been adapted to allow it to be used online, and multiple social-friendly edits gave AGCI the opportunity to point online traffic to their website.
