The Need

In 2017, as the need for child-sponsorship in Ethiopia continued to grow, All God’s Children International wanted to expand its sponsorship program to serve more children and families. Largely known by their core audience as an adoption agency, AGCI also wanted to expand their audience’s understanding of the breadth of their work, demonstrating that they are much more than simply an adoption agency.

I proposed a multi-part series to be released between Thanksgiving and Christmas of 2017. The series would focus on a single girl’s experience living in a rural Ethiopian community where many girls are expected to abandon their education to work the land or fetch a bride price from another member of the community.

the results

The Path to Hope series was extremely successful as a web-based series, and continues to be a valuable tool for AGCI’s advancement team. Since the creation of the series, the number of children receiving sponsorship has more than doubled, and donor retention remains high.
